Sligo Live Sessions and time off
Wednesday 20th October
This month we’ll be sharing stage space with Colenso Parade, Republic of Loose and, indeed, The Stranglers at Sligo Live Sessions, more specifically the Cafe Sessions part of the festival, so if you’re out west this Saturday 23rd then swing by Fiddler’s Creek at seven pm and you’ll probably catch us nervously sifting through wires and stage equipment getting ready for another assault on virgin territory (five counties down, twenty seven to go!).
We’re told it’s a lovely venue and we’re looking forward to revisiting those stony beaches and caravan spotted shorelines of our youth. Oh yes. Here’s a link to our SLS page- http://sligolive.ie/kitty-and-the-can-openers-bio.html.
As you may have heard we have regretfully had to cancel a few gigs over the last couple of weeks, due to no more or less than sheer creative exhaustion following our long summer of intense gigging and recording.
We want to take this opportunity to apologise to the fans and promoters and we hope there are no hard feelings! We’ve decided to take some time off to reenergise and allow the new material to take shape, and from now on will be pooling our resources into fewer gigs and finishing and promoting the new record- we figured there’s nothing worse than a band taking to the stage all bleary eyed and knackered all the time!
We’ll be appearing at Gifted at The Empire, Belfast on Thursday November 11th and then taking the rest of the year off, so hopefully we’ll see a few of you there cos believe me we’ll miss the arse out of ye over the next couple of months!
Finally we’d like to say special thanks to Elishabet, who was responsible for pointing out that nasty broken link on our website. As a band that is three quarters technophobe we’re extremely grateful for the extra help!
